Casting Experience
Our first day event was for Id's casting! It was perfect timing since we were already in KL. I had registered him with an agency when he was about 9 months old, but we hadn't received any job offers until recently. It was for Similac milk formula.
The casting was at an agency in Sri Hartamas. We were greeted by a young man with a camera who asked me to fill out an online form. Id was called first. When the man asked for his name, Id said "Id." He was asked to stand in the middle of the room, but he wanted to play hide and seek instead! He went to a corner, faced the wall, and counted 1 to 10. He did the same in another corner. The man said, "Come on! I don't have time for this!" I was furious when he said that. Id is still just a little boy, and this was his first time. I told him so.
Eventually, Id stood in the middle of the room. The cameraman asked him to do a few poses, and he did. Well done, Id!
Next was the acting part. I had to assist by holding him and putting him to sleep, but Id didn't want to close his eyes. The cameraman said, "Oh, there's nothing I can do about it!" (Erghhh)
He then asked if Id drinks milk, gave him a glass, and asked him to drink it and say "Ahhhhh" like it was refreshing, but Id didn't do it. He tried with water, but Id still didn't make the sound.
The cameraman said he would still show Id's footage to his client and noted that Id is still young.
I complained to our agent about the treatment. She said it's OK, the more Id goes to castings, the more comfortable he will become.
A few days later, we went to our agent to update Id's profile. He wasn't very cooperative, but we were told again that bringing him to more castings will help him get comfortable. The agency noticed that Id has huge potential in modeling. Alhamdulillah!
